Northamptonshire became an ICS - Integrated Care Systems on 1st July 2022.

The aim of integrated care is to give people the support they need, joined up across social services, NHS and the voluntary sector. It aims to remove the divisions between the NHS and council services and between different aspects of health – hospitals, GPs, mental and physical health.

The overall aim is to keep people healthy and out of hospital, enjoying their lives for as long as possible and building resilience.

Our aim is to support those living with long term health conditions such as diabetes, dementia and heart related illness and to meet the needs of our ageing local population and to help people to “Choose Well, Stay Well and Live Well”.

Parent Carers Group, North of County

The Kettering & Corby Parent Carers Group meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month between 10.30am and 12.30pm. Venues alternate between Kettering and Corby

Horizons Group West, Former Carers Group

Assistive technology

Assistive technology (AT) is any item, piece of equipment or software that is used to increase, maintain, or improve an individual’s ability to perform daily tasks. It is designed to support security and safety, whilst providing a less intrusive living environment.
Carer Awareness Training

We understand that life as a professional can be very busy with many demands being asked of you. We can provide Carer Awareness training to you or your organisation.
Investors in Carers GP Surgery Accreditation

We know that Carers’ health can be negatively affected as a result of caring so it is essential that Carers are identified by their GP surgeries so they can be offered help and support.
Support planning

Following on from Carers Assessments, Carers are entitled to an Individual Support Plan which will help identify how any eligible needs can be met.
GP Surgeries

Northamptonshire Carers has been working with GP practices since 2007. Evidence shows that carers who are receiving support from us are less likely to go back to the surgery with stress and anxiety related issues.

Who are carers?

Anyone, including children and adults, who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction and cannot cope without their support. The care they give is unpaid
Support line

Our Carers Support Line provides a confidential service to support the needs of Adult and Young Carers, including Parent Carers. The service can be accessed by Carers, professionals or anyone with a Carer related enquiry or issue.

Role of ROCKET and RESTART

Respiratory Therapy Acute Response Team (RESTART) is a team of nurses and physiotherapists who provide care for patients with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). They support early discharge of patients with COPD and also run the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programme.
