Coronavirus

Coronavirus is having a huge impact on carers of all ages. There are 70,000 unpaid carers in Northamptonshire, many of which are caring for a loved one in at risk group or may be in one themselves. Furthermore many carers were already socially isolated, financially affected or faced barriers in accessing services such as local shops which are all more difficult as we deal with Coronavirus as a nation. Carers though have been brilliantly supporting those they care for and therefore in turn the NHS and social care system that otherwise would be far more busier.

In the pages below you will find useful resources including support for Carers and those with health conditions including official guidance and ways coping in unprecedented times.

Carers always have deserved a huge thank you from all of us and this is especially true at the moment - thank you

#NorthantsTogether

  • Who are carers?

    Who are carers?

The term 'Carer' can often be confusing. We use it in terms of someone who provides support for a relative or friend who has a disability, long-term illness or other additional needs. Sometimes the term 'Carer' can get mixed up for those who work for care agencies and care homes.
