How you can help us Volunteer with us Volunteering at Northamptonshire Carers Volunteering Do you like supporting people? Have you thought about working within Social Care & Health but not having any relevant experience or qualifications in that field has held you back? Volunteering can be a great way to gain some good work experience as well as enhancing your skills and confidence – it looks good on your CV and can give you the opportunity to do something completely different. We have an amazing team of volunteers who have played a huge part in helping us to change our way of working during the COVID19 Pandemic and have also been key in helping us start new projects – they are pivotal in helping Northamptonshire Carers to continue to provide such a diverse and flexible service to support unpaid Carers. We have some very exciting volunteering opportunities available at Northamptonshire Carers and many of these projects don’t need a huge amount of time from you as the roles can be quite flexible. These include: Dementia groups & Dementia Friendly Choir SPRING – Social Prescribing in Northamptonshire – supporting people on a 1:1 basis to help build their confidence and self esteem to engage with other social networks Befriending – Sitting Service and Telephone Befriending Drivers who have access to a vehicle – helping Carers who are socially isolated to engage with other support networks Carer Champions who help us raise awareness of Carer Support services ICAN – Groups for people who have long term health conditions and their Carers including COPD, Coronary Heart Disease & Diabetes Breathing Space – COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) & Long COVID Groups Fundraising/Marketing Support Groups, Drop-ins & Outreach Some of these roles can be home based – we can be very flexible and can often fit these roles around you and your own commitments. You will work within a lively team and we provide lots of support.
