Do you like supporting people?

Have you thought about working within Social Care & Health but not having any relevant experience or qualifications in that field has held you back?

Volunteering can be a great way to gain some good work experience as well as enhancing your skills and confidence – it looks good on your CV and can give you the opportunity to do something completely different.

We have an amazing team of volunteers who have played a huge part in helping us to change our way of working during the COVID19 Pandemic and have also been key in helping us start new projects – they are pivotal in helping Northamptonshire Carers to continue to provide such a diverse and flexible service to support unpaid Carers.

We have some very exciting volunteering opportunities available at Northamptonshire Carers and many of these projects don’t need a huge amount of time from you as the roles can be quite flexible.

These include:

  • Dementia groups & Dementia Friendly Choir
  • SPRING – Social Prescribing in Northamptonshire – supporting people on a 1:1 basis to help build their confidence and self esteem to engage with other social networks
  • Befriending – Sitting Service and Telephone Befriending
  • Drivers who have access to a vehicle – helping Carers who are socially isolated to engage with other support networks
  • Carer Champions who help us raise awareness of Carer Support services
  • ICAN – Groups for people who have long term health conditions and their Carers including COPD, Coronary Heart Disease & Diabetes
  • Breathing Space – COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) & Long COVID Groups
  • Fundraising/Marketing
  • Support Groups, Drop-ins & Outreach

Some of these roles can be home based – we can be very flexible and can often fit these roles around you and your own commitments.  You will work within a lively team and we provide lots of support.
