Care At Home

As an unpaid Carer, you can use our Care At Home service in 2 ways:

  1. As from 1st April 2025 Northamptonshire Carers are commissioned to provide 48 hours of free support a year (April to April) for emergencies and planned carers break. This can be used as one block booking or several shorter visits.
  2. You can choose to pay for our Care At Home service at a cost of £25 per hour.

You must be registered with Northamptonshire Carers to access the 48 hour emergencies and planned Carer breaks service. This service is only available for adults, and is subject to availability.

What is the Care At Home service?

Our private Care at Home service could be for you, if you - or someone you care for - is an adult and needs:

  • some support to remain at home;
  • some support to return home from hospital;
  • the person you care for has some care and companionship needs and you would welcome some time away for yourself each week

While we all prefer to remain at home, or look forward to going home safely after a stay in hospital, for example, it can be an anxious time for some. Especially if you live alone or do not have support available.

Our Care at Home service will provide reassurance, comfort and confidence to enable you to return or remain at home knowing someone will be there to help you along the way.

Care at Home can also enable family Carers to have a little time away, knowing that the adult you look after will be safe and well cared for. Personal Care is offered as part of this service, as our team are fully trained and experienced in supporting with tasks such as washing, dressing and toileting, and all our colleagues can provide companionship.

Whatever your, or your loved ones needs are, Care at Home from Northamptonshire Carers will, subject to assessment, create a bespoke and personalised service to meet your requirements.

Our Care at Home service offers:

One to one awake service through the night from 8.00pm to 8.00am

A short break, one on one awake service between the hours of 8.00am to 8:00pm

Support with personal care such as washing and toileting

General observation after procedures or discharges from hospital

Medication support and prompts

Mobility support and assistance

Assistance with nourishment and refreshments

Companionship and a friendly listening ear

All of our colleagues are:

Fully trained to work in the community, supported living or a private residential setting

Let Northamptonshire Carers provide you with personal support or the reassurance you need to be able to take some time to yourself, whether that be catching up with friends over coffee or a walk around the park.
