A 4 week course for those newly diagnosed with COPD and frequently accessing primary or secondary care. Registration must be completed prior to attending groups. Please refer to the BSpace admin contact details on the poster. This is to ensure the right support group is offered and medical details are logged in order to access consultations with the doctor.

Needs and Aspirations

Needs & Aspirations is a project facilitated by SERVE. This project gives a wide range of activities enabling Carers to have a break from their caring roles, both training and leisure.
Emergency respite service

The aim of this service is to provide emergency breaks and rapid response support to carers at short notice, to deal with emergency situations or to prevent a crisis from occurring. The service also provides support for one off appointments and events to offer the carer more support and flexibility to deal with life’s unexpected events.
Carers Ukulele Group

The sound of a ukulele brings up images of far-away tropical beaches: sun on your face, cocktail in hand. Or stuck in a trench with George Formby. Either way our Carers Ukulele group is a relaxing way to socialise with other Carers, relax and learn an instrument.

The benefits system can seem confusing especially for Carers who's benefits are closely linked to those of the person they care for. Thankfully advice is available and we would recommend regular benefits checks, especially following a change of circumstances. If we can't help you, we can point you towards an expert who can.

Who are carers?

Anyone, including children and adults, who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction and cannot cope without their support. The care they give is unpaid
Support line

Our Carers Support Line provides a confidential service to support the needs of Adult and Young Carers, including Parent Carers. The service can be accessed by Carers, professionals or anyone with a Carer related enquiry or issue.

Role of ROCKET and RESTART

Respiratory Therapy Acute Response Team (RESTART) is a team of nurses and physiotherapists who provide care for patients with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). They support early discharge of patients with COPD and also run the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programme.
