A Young Carer is someone under the age of 18, who looks after someone else who has a physical or mental health support need. Often this is a member of their family, such as parents, grandparents and/or siblings.

There are One Million Young Carers across the UK and 10,000 in Northamptonshire alone.

Many Young Carers put their own lives and friendships on hold to care for others. As we head towards the long summer school holiday, spare a thought that they often miss out on fun times as their caring responsibilities continue.

Young Carers save the country an estimated £152 billion a year through the unpaid care that they provide for someone.
