It is said that 1 in 3 people born in the UK in 2020 will develop Dementia in their lifetime. And, there are around 850,000 people living with Dementia in the UK at the moment. While we fully appreciate that these read as worrying statistics, we also know that they are also the type of thing that grab the headlines. What those headlines don’t show you are the people living with Dementia and getting the most out of every day!
Yes, there will be bad days but isn’t this the case for any of us no matter what we are living with? If the current Covid-19 situation has taught us anything, it is that life is for living as best we can. People of all ages and all disabilities have embraced the power of adapting to using things such as Skype, Zoom and a telephone! Northamptonshire Carers has not stopped working during these times and we have found a whole host of ways to continue to support people, we have been very creative!
And so with this in mind, let us remind you of the wonderful work we are doing to support people with memory problems, as well as those who have Dementia and also, carers.
