About carers Health conditions COPD Breathing Space Project COPD Breathing Space Project Overview Breathing Space is a project for people diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and their unpaid Carers. It aims at reducing social isolation and improving wellbeing. It is available to those in Northampton, Daventry and surrounding areas Fortnightly Breathing Space group meetings held in Daventry and Northampton will provide: Opportunities to share experiences and engage in social and fun activities Access to clinical advice from a GP or specialist nurse Sessions on relaxation, self-management, healthy eating, exercise and practical advice Access to emotional support service. Very pleased to have attended. Made to feel at ease and welcomed. Looking forward to the next meeting. Breathing Space member Other support includes home visits by Peer Support workers and on-line social networks.
