Experiences of accessing a GP appointment in Northamptonshire:

  • Since the pandemic began, Healthwatch North and West Northamptonshire has worked to support people to access appointments from health and care service providers. We would now like to hear the public’s experiences of this regarding getting an appointment with their GP. This information will help local services respond to public needs.
  • Our findings will be shared with local service providers to inform them of their work and help them to adapt to patients requests and to continue to deliver good quality care that benefits the local community.

Healthwatch North and West Northamptonshire (HWNW) are working to help local people get the best out of their local health and care services. We hope that by hearing people’s experiences, we can help to make local services more efficient for the future.

We are aware that the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on GP’s was substantial. However, for health providers, this impact is twofold; not only were they concerned about their own health and wellbeing, they were also having to go above and beyond to provide physical and emotional support for their patients. Due to these complexities we would now like to hear the issues you have had since the pandemic as well as what has worked well.

We would be grateful to hear from people about what works and what could be better.

The survey is for anyone who lives in Northamptonshire, is aged 16 or over and would like to share their views about experiences they have had accessing GP services.
